The US Environmental Protection Agency named indoor air quality as one of the top 5 health threats in the U.S. That’s because we are spending 90% of our time indoors. As buildings become more energy efficient, they’re less likely to circulate fresh, clean air — and more likely to accumulate unsafe levels of particles, bacteria, mold spores and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The past three years have been a transformative time for the building and real estate industries as well as for hospitality, sports, schools, healthcare, casinos, and aviation. Practically overnight, a global health crisis impacted every aspect of our lives, bringing about immediate changes as well as changes that will continue to evolve for years to come.  COVID served as a wake-up call in so many ways, including casting a light on climate change, and the harder-to-ignore effects of warmer temperatures.  Decarbonization, energy usage, and sustainability are front and center, as we all try to do what we can, where and when we can, to become part of the solution.
